Oh my... how times change...

This picture was taken 10 years ago on my 17th Birthday! I figured what better time to post than 10 years later on my 27th birthday. (July 29, 2001) Love these girls! Wop wop!

The gang... All still best friends (plus and minus a few) Oops, hope that wasn't rude. ; )

Transfer

Today we went in to the IVF lab and got our 2 embryos put in me. Dr. Dunn said everything was looking great and said that he felt very confident with everything. The transfer was quick, easy, and painless. I think I was so excited that I couldn't even think to be scared. I had to show the fabulous picture of Aaron and I about to go in. He got many compliments on how he wore the hair cover. We are so excited and can't wait until August 1st when we go in and find out if we are pregnant or not. As of now were just hanging at home and taking it easy and eating some DELICIOUS sandwiches that Liz and Caleb made for us. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. We are so lucky to have such a great circle of people surrounding us. Fingers crossed!

Egg Retrieval

We did the egg retrieval yesterday morning and they took 24 eggs. Dr. Dunn called this morning and said that 20 of the eggs were good and that 15 of them fertilized! As of right now, the plan is to go back on Thursday (the BIG day) and do the embryo transfer. Again, we won't know anything for 2 weeks, after they do a blood test. I am a little sore still from the procedure yesterday, but doing good.
I was feeling good enough last night to go spend a few hours at Micha and Brent's engagement party. I looked like a lump on a log just sitting there, but there was no way we could miss the celebration. So far all is well, and we are continuing to cross our fingers and hope for the best.
I will keep updating on here... calling and texting takes forever. : ) The prayers are working!
Thank you again for all the well wishes and prayers. We have some fabulous family and friends.

Update on us...

Hello everyone!
So the egg retrieval will be this Saturday at 8 am. They will take my eggs and Aarons stuff and have them "mix and mingle" (that's what I like to call it) for 3 to 5 days. Then we will go back to the doctor and they will put the 2 best fertilized eggs back in me. We will have to wait 2 weeks to find out if the eggs took or not. Please say tons of prayers and keep your fingers crossed!
We are both super excited but a little bit nervous too, and we hope and pray that our dreams of becoming a family are about to come true.
Thank you to everyone for all of your love and support through this wild ride!

I have one more favor to ask... please say a prayer for my principal and her family as well. She is currently battling cancer which we thought was out of her system until 3 days ago. She is truly an amazing person who I admire greatly. Thank you!

hello...

I swore I would never create one of these blogs, but with everything that Aaron and I have going on right now, I figured that this would be something that would be great to use to keep everyone updated.

IVF...
Aaron and I are currently in the middle of the (IVF) In vitro process. Although it is a wild and crazy ride, we are super excited and hopeful that our dreams of becoming parents is about to come true. So far Dr. Dunn and the nurses say I am responding well to the medicine and Aaron's levels are looking good. They should do the egg retrieval at the end of this week, possibly Saturday or Sunday. We then have to wait 3-5 days and then they will go back in and place the fertilized eggs. We will know if the IVF worked in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

I will post more info as time goes on...
